Mission

The Mission

The mission of  Marguerite’s Pantry is to provide supplemental food to the poor and needy of the local community regardless of race, religion or ethnic background.  The Pantry strives to promote the wellbeing of the families from  the local community who are in need of food and basic baby supplies by providing nourishing foods including fresh produce, when possible fresh meat and staple food as well as diapers and other supplies such as feminine products.  All our staff including our coordinator who is a licensed social worker, are volunteers.  Our mission includes involving volunteers to advocate for and serve the needy with the utmost care and respect and to extend hospitality to all those we serve.

The Purpose

• To assist those in the local community who experience food insecurity.
• To provide volunteer opportunities by helping those in need.
• To continue the ministry, mission and charism of St. Marguerite d’Youville who served the poor and needy of Montreal.
